Website visitors. Cloudflare, our hosting provider, processes requests when you visit this website, which may include your IP address, browser type and device information. This is necessary to serve the website securely and protect against misuse. You can read more in Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Contact form. If you choose to submit the contact form, your name and email address are collected, along with any message you choose to include. Form submissions are processed by Web3Forms, our form handling provider, which forwards them to us by email. Your email address may be added to Amarelo's mailing list for occasional updates on app availability and new features. You are never required to provide your personal information to use this website.
This website uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies, set by Cloudflare for security and performance purposes, and by hCaptcha, which protects the contact form against automated submissions. No analytics or advertising cookies are used.
Your email address will never be shared with third parties. You may unsubscribe from Amarelo's mailing list at any time through the unsubscribe link in any newsletter, or by sending a request to info@amarelo.app.

By downloading, installing, or using the Amarelo mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App. These Terms are in addition to, and should be read alongside, any terms required by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store through which you obtained the App.
The App is provided by Amarelo Publishing OÜ, a company registered in Estonia ("Amarelo," "we," "us," or "our").
Amarelo provides information on beaches located across a defined set of European countries in the wider Mediterranean region, including water quality data, current and historical weather conditions, water temperature, UV index, and nearby points of interest. Beaches are presented in list and map view, and users may save selected beaches for future reference.
The App can be used as a guest without an account. Creating an account (via email, Google, or Apple sign-in) unlocks the save function and access to current weather. A paid subscription unlocks additional features, including hourly forecasts, UV index detail, and historical weather patterns.
The information provided within the App, including but not limited to water quality, weather, water temperature, UV index, and points of interest, is provided for general informational purposes only. This data is sourced from a combination of trusted providers, including private and public sources, and while we make reasonable efforts to keep it current, Amarelo makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding its completeness, accuracy, reliability, timeliness, or suitability for any purpose.
Water and weather conditions can change rapidly and unpredictably. The App is not a substitute for official local safety notices, lifeguard instructions, posted warnings, or your own judgment. You should always check local, official sources before entering the water or relying on any condition described in the App, particularly where safety is concerned. You use the App, and act on any information within it, entirely at your own risk.
Accounts. You may create an account using an email address, or by signing in with your Google or Apple account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. If you create your account using an email address, you can edit your name at any time in Settings. Accounts created via Google or Apple cannot be edited at all — the name and email provided at sign-up remain fixed for the lifetime of the account.
Subscriptions. Paid subscription features are billed and processed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on your device. Subscription pricing, billing cycles, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are governed by the respective store's terms and policies:
Amarelo does not directly process, store, or have access to your payment card details. Refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google in accordance with their respective policies; Amarelo has no ability to issue refunds directly.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in accordance with the applicable store's policy.
The App allows you to submit beach ratings and to send in-app messages to Amarelo (for example, to report inaccurate information or bugs). By submitting a rating or message, you confirm it is accurate to the best of your knowledge and does not contain unlawful, abusive, or infringing content. We may use, moderate, edit, or remove submitted ratings at our discretion. Ratings are displayed within the App only as an aggregate number across all users; no name or individual user activity is ever shown to other users. The App does not include any messaging functionality between users, and does not share user-submitted content with any third party beyond what is necessary to operate the backend service described in our Privacy Policy.

You agree not to: use the App for any unlawful purpose; attempt to interfere with, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the App or its backend infrastructure; submit false, misleading, abusive, or infringing ratings or messages; or attempt to access another user's account.
All content within the App, including text, design, graphics, logos, and the Amarelo name and icon, is the property of Amarelo Publishing OÜ or its licensors, and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without prior written permission.
The App relies on third-party infrastructure and data providers, including Firebase (backend services) and providers of weather, water quality, and UV data. Amarelo is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services, though we take care in selecting reputable providers. See our Privacy Policy for further detail on how these services process data.
Points of interest within the App may include a website link, which, where available, points to the official website of that location or a publicly available Wikipedia article. The App also includes a search function that lets you look up a beach using your preferred search engine, selectable in Settings from a list of popular options or a custom entry. Links may open within the App or in your device's external browser, depending on your choice.
The App also includes a Directions button, which opens your device's default maps or navigation app with the relevant beach's coordinates preloaded, and a Share button, which generates a short descriptive text (including the beach's name, general location, a maps link, and a note that it was shared from Amarelo) and opens your device's native share functionality, so you can copy the text or send it via a messaging app of your choice.
These features rely on apps and services operated by third parties (including your device's maps, navigation, and messaging apps) over which Amarelo has no control. Amarelo is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any external website, app, or service, and including a link or shortcut to one does not imply endorsement.
Amarelo does not display advertising. For full detail on how your data is handled, please see our Privacy Policy.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Where changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users in-app.
These Terms are governed by applicable Estonian and European Union law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the law of your country of residence.

Amarelo Publishing OÜ ("Amarelo," "we," "us," or "our"), registered in Estonia, is the data controller responsible for your personal data in connection with the Amarelo mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is handled.
You can use the App without creating an account. In guest mode, you have full access to all beach locations, both as a list and on the map, along with nearby points of interest — but not the save function or current weather, which require an account. We do not collect any personal information from you in guest mode. Basic technical processing (such as your device requesting data from our backend, hosted via Firebase) occurs to serve app content, but no account or profile is created.
Email sign-in. If you create an account using an email address, we collect that email address, a password (stored securely, not in plain text), and a name, which you're asked to provide during sign-up, to allow you to log in, save beaches, and access current weather. Should you choose to subscribe, further functionality — including hourly forecast, UV index, and historical weather patterns — becomes available, as described below under Subscriptions and Payments.
Sign in with Google or Apple. If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we receive a unique identifier and, where provided, your name and email address, in order to create and authenticate your account. We do not receive your Google or Apple password. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy or Apple's Privacy Policy for information on how they handle your data during sign-in.
Name. If you created your account using an email address, you can edit your name at any time in Settings. Accounts created via Google or Apple cannot be edited at all — the name and email provided at sign-up remain fixed for the lifetime of the account.
No other data collected. Beyond what's described above, Amarelo does not collect any other personal information through the App. We do not collect your phone number or location data (handled entirely on your device, as described below), and we do not build a browsing history or behavioural profile of your activity. Payments are handled and confirmed entirely by Apple's or Google's own systems.
Your saved beaches are stored locally on your device only, for enhanced privacy — they are never transmitted to or stored on our backend, and Amarelo has no access to them. Since this data lives in the App's local storage, saved beaches are deleted if you delete the App, and are not currently synced across devices. Submitting a rating, or sending an in-app message to report an inaccuracy or bug, does require backend processing (via Firebase) so that it can be reviewed and actioned. Ratings and reports may be reviewed by Amarelo staff to maintain data quality and app functionality. No names, ratings, or other user activity are ever displayed to other users within the App — beach ratings are shown only as an aggregate number across all users, and this content is not shared with any other user or any third party beyond the backend infrastructure described below.
Paid subscriptions are purchased and managed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Amarelo does not receive, process, or store your payment card details. Apple or Google may share with us a non-identifying confirmation of subscription status (e.g., active/expired) to unlock the relevant features in your account. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy or Google's Privacy Policy for how they handle your payment information.
If you grant permission, the App may use your device's location to show you beaches near your current position on the map and in the list view. This processing happens entirely on your device: your location is never transmitted to, or stored on, our backend infrastructure, and Amarelo does not have access to it at any point. You can decline or revoke this permission at any time through your device settings; the App remains fully usable via manual search and browsing without it. We do not store a history of your location, and location data is not used for any purpose beyond displaying nearby beaches within the App session.
Points of interest shown for a beach may include a website link — typically the official website of that location, or a publicly available Wikipedia article, where one exists. Each beach's additional information view also includes a search button, which searches for that location using your preferred search engine, selectable in Settings from a list of popular options or a custom entry of your choice. These links, and any search results, may open within the App or in your device's external browser, depending on your settings.
A Directions button opens your device's default maps or navigation app with the beach's coordinates preloaded, so you can get directions without manually re-entering the location. A Share button generates a short descriptive text — the beach's name, general location, a maps link, and a note that it was shared from Amarelo — and opens your device's native share functionality, so you can copy it or send it via a messaging app of your choice.
None of this functionality involves Amarelo collecting or transmitting any personal data about you; it simply opens a link, constructs a search query, or hands off coordinates and descriptive text to an app already on your device, which you then choose to use. Once you follow a link or open another app this way, you are subject to the privacy practices of that external website, search engine, maps app, or messaging app, which we encourage you to review.
The App uses Firebase (provided by Google) for backend services, including account authentication, data storage (ratings, in-app messages), and app functionality. Firebase processes this data on our behalf as a data processor, under Google's own security and data protection commitments. Firebase does not use this data for advertising, and we do not permit any secondary use of your data by Firebase or Google. You can review Google's Firebase Privacy and Security policy for more detail.
Amarelo does not display advertising. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing, advertising, or any other purpose, and never will. Your data is only processed by the infrastructure providers named in this Policy (Firebase, and Apple/Google for sign-in and payments), strictly as necessary to operate the App.
We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, your email, ratings, and messages are deleted from our systems within a reasonable period, except where retention is required to comply with a legal obligation. Saved beaches are stored locally on your device and are removed simply by deleting the App.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Norway, or Iceland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) / UK GDPR, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and the right to object to certain processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are located in the United States or Canada, you may have similar rights under applicable state or provincial privacy law (such as the CCPA/CPRA in California), including the right to know what data is collected and to request deletion.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@amarelo.app or use the account deletion option within the App. We do not sell personal data, so there is no "opt-out of sale" request to make.
The App is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@amarelo.app so we can delete it.
Our infrastructure providers (Firebase/Google, Apple) may process data on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where this involves a transfer from the EEA/UK, it is carried out under appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, as provided by those infrastructure providers.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including relying on Firebase's built-in authentication and security infrastructure. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy. Where changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users in-app.
